The original plan was to watch Vegas on Live Pay Per View. But after finding out that it wasn't gonna be live, I just had to go.

That being the case, I figured I'd take  VET_SLOW_N_LOW, my son Jacob, and his son Corbin. Turns out he was going to be right in the middle of packing up to move to a new house.

I then began the search for another friend to accompany me along to the races. On my 3rd try I was able to contact my long time friend Rich.

Rich is engaged, and one of  Riverside Counties finest. Some of you may have already met him?.. He's also had five apearances on the TV show COPS. When we get together we always have a great time and border on the edge of real trouble.

We set out early Saturday morning for Vegas. Usually a 3 hour trip with smooth traffic. I knew that the gates opened at 12:30 and we were entering the town at around 11:00. So we called ahead to the hotel to see if we could get an early check in?. "Sorry you'll have to physically come up to the front desk and then we will check for you".   Now I had to make a decision, Drive all the way into town and risk being late to practice , and still we might not be able to check in early. after all Oscar De La Hoya was scheduled to fight the same night at this same hotel. So it was gonna be packed.

We opted to head towards Sam Boyd Stadium. We got there in perfect time with a stop on the way for some grub.

With nothing to loose Reed rode aggressively up to the front taking out RC on the way. He won his 6th in a row. Congrats Reed.

With everything to loose, and after some team tactics between himself and Ferry, RC skated to his 3rd consecutive 250cc title.

Way to go RC.!

PARADISE!.

Well after jamming through a drive through for some good old American beef.  We ended up at the hotel at 12:30am. The clerk told me that they had no rooms left like I had reserved.  The lady was very nice and politely said " I am going to upgrade you for free" I realize this is what they do when they overbook the regular rooms. So I never worried and said " Sounds great to me" Little did I know that they had really overbooked the place. We ended up getting the top floor penthouse suite!. I knew this would never happen to me again so I took a bunch of pics.

We awoke Sunday morning to an awesome 62nd floor view of greater Las Vegas. In a room that usually runs 3000.00 per night. We then ventured down the buffet for some real food. After that we hung by the many different pools and waited until Monday to return home.

We had a great time. I will do my best to get out there next year too. Hope they overbook the hotel again next year!.
